maybe a stupid question

i think a programmer don't need to master Ejb,unless your company need it.

is that ture?

EJBs are extremely powerful. They are really appropriate in only the most demanding applications. It is true that the majority of applications are better served by simpler architectures using plain Java objects and servlets. In the opinion of many people, EJBs are greatly overused.

As a Java programmer, it should be good, for yourself, to know what EJBs are, and what you can do with them. Even if you don't use them at work.
Don't stay focused only to the things you have to do, open your eyes to what's going on around to

Agree if you understand the difference between a programmer and a
developer. A programmer can ignore EJB but a developer can't.

Just my $0.02.

Here's my answer with an interesting swing - every programmer should master the concepts, but mastering the "coding" is no longer a requirement. This is because of smart IDEs that provide you code generation for all the plumbing.
