I am new to EJB and wanted some basic information.
I would imagine version 2.0 to be used extensively in the market and new work likely to start
happening on version 3.0 with the advent of version 3.0.

As a starter, should I go straight for version 3.0 or learn first 2.0 then move onto 3.0 ?
Or may be even start from 1.0 ?
Apparently 3.0 is supposed to be simpler for developer though conceptually I believe it would remain same.

Since most of the books out are for 2.x I would learn 2.x for now. Check out Head First EJB. I prefer EJB 3.0 myself, but for learning right now, I think you will do best with the HF book.

Good Luck.

Actually, if you are new to EJB then an alternative course of action that I would recommend is to start with EJB 3.0. Starting with EJB 2.x will make the learning curve much steeper, and is something that you can come back and learn later if you need it. You don't need to know EJB 2.x to use EJB 3.0.
