Hi Biswa,

Apress (the publisher) has a series of books that starts with "Pro" that is intended for intermediate to advanced users. Given the newness of the API, Merrick and I decided to include some chapters to help beginners pick up the book and learn the API, so it is good for novices as well.

I am not sure what version of the specs is covered by the Sun exam you are looking at, but if it covers Javee EE 5 then this will definitely help you. If it only covers J2EE 1.4 then this book will not really help you.

Just to answer the question regarding the exam version, the current SCBCD covers the J2EE 1.3 version (meaning EJB 2.0). Supposedly a JavaEE 5 version of the exam may be out this fall, but there's been no announcement from Sun.
