Would like to know about how does the book handle the topics of
1. Comparison of the EJB 2 and EJB 3
2. How many examples of the JPA are given ? Are they tested using containers ?

We did put in some sidebars when there were points that were worth making about EJB 2 isues, but as I mentioned in another thread we didn't spend a lot of time trying to backfill the book with EJB 2.1 material.

In terms of examples I never actually counted them There should be enough to help people understand the content, and not too many that they are always getting in the way... Many use the container, some don't, and those that do can often be pulled out. We basically just wanted them to be runnable from a web page.

That sounds good as far as references are maintained for few of the points it is great. As far as runnable web page examples that makes the understanding easier. Few more clarifications will help me understand the book content more clearly.

Does the book refer to the existing EJB specification and particularly the page of specification or index in the specification while describing fetures of EJB 3 ?

How much of security and transaction aspects of EJB 3 are covered in the book ?

We all know EJB 3 is new, are there in risk / issues seen in the new specification for implementation and does the book warn about the same where need be ? In particular any deficiencies seen in the GlassFish for
a newcomer.

It is a reference implementation , so I don't think we should complain about deficiencies.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
