Hi Mike,

How many months of preparation do you think will it require
me to actually implement EJB 3.0 using your book? I have
experience in Java and a little stateless session bean
experience.

If my boss ask me, "Why should we use EJB 3.0?" What are
the benefits of using it compared to the existing approach
like JSP+Servlets. Java+Webworks+Spring+Hibernate. Will our
project complete faster? It is already that stable since
it was just released?

Some people are complaining that if they use EJB 3.0 they
will get stuck with EJB 3.0 specs. Are the standards the
only benefit compared to existing tools?

I need some strong convincing words so it will sink into his brain
that EJB 3.0 rocks! So he will say, "Isn't EJB 3.0 dreamy, this
is what our company needs so let's buy all of the PRO EJB
Books available and take a vacation in EJB 3.0 land."

Regards,

Robbi Palacios

Hi Robbi,

We tried to keep the book and the examples as practical as possible. I would expect that if you have already written session beans in the past and have a decent understanding of the database, then you should be able to get up and running in short order. Everyone works and learns at a different speed, so I wouldn't want to characterize this in terms of days, weeks or months.

Cheers,

Merrick
