is Websphere experience relevant?

Hi,
I am working for an MNC for the last 1 year. The work involved in-depth knowledge of Websphere and EJBs. My role here is both as WAS administrator and application developer.
Now,I want a job switch.I want to know how much is Websphere experience relevant in the job market and how much salary increase I can expect?

Its very rare that you would need to set up websphere unless you are developing something from scratch. Furthermore people will be careful about choosing candidates that are potential WS administrators. I dont think some one with one year of experience will fill the bill. However you can promote this experience as a plus when you attend an interview.
