Hey Fellas...
Following is the situation..
I am learning JAVA..
I had to change my PC.
So I got another PC for my self.
I first installed J2SE...
A month later I installed J2EE.
Now, I observed that with J2EE, J2SE compiler and components are bundled BY DEFAULT.
So, now, I have 2 versions of J2SE on my machine.
I have following questions since I dont know much about interoperability of these two technologies:

1. If I uninstalled prior J2SE version (not the one which I got with J2EE), what necessary changes should I do to gurantee that my OLD file (developed and compiled using old J2SE) should work without hassels with new J2SE?
2. I dont want to use new J2SE, but I want the J2EE and Application Server to pick up my old J2SE. How will I do this?

The two questions are saparate and actually these are two ways of removing the redendancy caused by an extra J2SE.
Can someone throw somelight on this?

Thanks
Aliester

Is the version(like 1.4 , 1.5 or Tiger) of new and old J2SE same ? (J2SE has backward compatibility)

Which J2EE server do you use?

I don't understand exactly what you are asking. And you are hijacking this thread. If you want an App Server for testing purposes go to the vendors website and see if they have a free or trial version you can use. Otherwise, we cannot give away software for free that costs. If you need a good free App Server, why not use Glassfish from Sun at java.sun.com or JBoss AS at www.jboss.org
