I bought a J2EE book recently. Book titled Beginning J2EE 1.4 From Novice To Professional By James L.Weaver,Kevin Mukhar, and Jim Crume

I try to run the example for session bean. After deploying the bean,I have to run the following at command prompt

java -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost=localhost -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort=3700 client.SimpleSessionClient now is the time

Does anyone know what is -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost=localhost or -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort=3700 ?

Key,
The ORB (object request broker) is run on the application server. This is something like JBoss. Those two are system properties to tell the program where your ORB/app server is running and what port to find it on.

Thanks Jeanne for your prompt reply. But how do I know I suppose to run the client using a command like that ? Is there anywhere I can find out more about how I should run the command. By the way, what do you mean by "This is something like JBoss"

Thanks again Jeanne
