I'm new to J2EE.Can someone please tell if it is possible to run the regular Swing applications via J2ee and how would i configure my Application Server to do so?

Ugo,
It is possible to run any Java application as an application client in J2EE. It's not so much configuring the application server as it is setting up the classpath for your application client. The details vary extensively by application server.

Note that this is usually only needed when calling an EJB running on the application server.

The answer to your question is a capital NO, you can't use the AWT or
swing component API within the Java EE Application server, ie in your bean
class but you can have a GUI client application for your deployed (EJBs)
server applications.
Check programming restriction section of the spec.
