Hi Greg,

I managed to replacing the JNDI lookup line from java:comp/env/ejb/NewsEntityFacade to NewsApp/NewsEntityFacade/local which fixed java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException error. However, I now received the following error despite having been able to access the ListNews servlet:

HTTP Status 404 - /NewsApp-war/POstMessage
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
type Status report

message /NewsApp-war/POstMessage

description The requested resource (/NewsApp-war/POstMessage) is not available.

The Postmessage.java can be referenced from http://www.netbeans.org/kb/55/ejb30-jboss.html.

Looks like this is going to be a steep learning curve for me.

Thanks,

Henry

The detail is located from this link.

http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4001651#4001651

Any assistances would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Not that this helps you

I developed quite a few EJB 3/JPA samples for OracleAS 10.1.3.1 and you can download from OTN at http://otn.oracle.com/ejb3

Also you can download a lot of samples of my book from Manning web site at http://manning.com/panda/ and we have zips to run on either Glassfish or OracleAS.

regards
Debu

Hi Debu,

Thanks a lot for pointing me to wealth of information on EJB 3.0. I will improve my understanding on this area much sooner.

Its a pity that there isn't sufficient material on Netbeans about importing some of these existing examples into its IDE. There appears to be a bug in this functionality and their support is very slow.

Do you have any suggestion on what other good IDE for me to try out?

Thanks again,

Henry
