Greetings to the book authors! (Debu Panda, Reza Rahman, Derek Lane)

I've used EJB2.1 a bit and have not yet looked at the 3.0 spec.

I was wondering what the authors considered to be the three biggest differences or fundamental changes between the 2.1 & 3.0 spec.

Thanks and congrats on the new book!

I hit on add reply too soon (:

1. Simplified Programming model
- POJO, no EJB specific API, DD becomes optional by using annotations

2. Simplified persistence
- POJO based persistence similar to Hibernate, TopLink
- standardized O-R mapping
- persistence can be used outside

Read chapter 1 of the book http://www.manning.com/panda/panda_meapch1.pdf for details!
