Can I use EJB with a non transactional db?

I'd like to know if is it possible to control transactions on a non transactional database using EJB (2.0)

Off hand, no. From what I recall, the database has to support transactions (most do) and the driver should support JDBC/XA transactions. Which database/driver are you using that does not support this?
