Hi all,

I got a big problem of the configuration in ear file.

Scenario:
The content of the ear are as follows:
a.ear :

b.war //web module
c.jar //ejb module
d.jar //extra jar file

In order to make d.jar accessible to b.war and c.jar file, can anyone give me idea what configuration I need to do?

Thanks a lot
Benson

Hello,

what i feel is your question could have bit clear. anyhow let me answer for that which i understood, your directory structure would be one of the problem, meaning you have not placed WAR and JAR in proper place, what my kind adivce here is pls have a look on this book "Head First Servlets and JSP" which is really good one for all. It contains answer for your questions. Thnx a lot.

Hi Sanka,

Thanks for your reply. um..I believe the directory structure of a ear file is like that and it is same as what the book mentions. I don't think the book will give the picture differently.
The ear file contains war file, ejb jar file and utility jar file. the layout of the ear file. i.e.

ear
|
|____b.war
|
|____c.jar
|
|____d.jar
|____META-INF
|_______MANIFEST.MF
|_______application.xml

where c.jar is the ejb jar and d.jar is the utility jar file.

The question is how d.jar is accessible to b.war file.

Thanks
Benson

Hi Benson

If you have the editor netbeans or something else, while creating the war file , we will mount the accessable jar the path location .

If you are not using the editor , In the web module contained the two folder like META-INF, WEB-INF,

In the WEB-INF folder contained classes and lib

Classes folder contained our active servlet where as lib folder contained
our accessable jar , like you are told (d.jar)

Still you are not clear , Send your reply.
