I have just started getting back into EJB after a 4yr layoff

I have started looking at the EJB development, but then I started seeing more and more people ravig about Spring and how much better than EJB it is.

I'd be starting Hibernate/Spring from scratch as I have no prior knowledge of it, so basically I was wondering if anyone could give me a brief plus/minus of EJB compared to Spring?

I'm looking for anything regarding:
- Ease of development/maintenance
- Ease of learing (EJB can be complex)
- Any general opinions regarding the two, is Spring over-rated or do you think it's worth all it's hype?

Just I don't want to spend the next 6 months writing something in EJB just to realise Spring would have been a better option.
