JMS Server Restart

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
The JMS server is up and running, and my standalone Java application connects to two queues, a producer and consumer. My questions are how do I recover these connections when the JMS server goes down.

(1) For a producer, I get the JMSException thrown when trying to send. Do I need to close the current producer connection or just null it out?

(2) For a consumer, using an onMessage() listener, I am not informed of the lost JMS connection. What usual notification is done to inform the consumer, like a loop back message to the queue that isn't received and a timeout occurs in the consumer code, and do I close the lost the connection before creating a new one?

(3) Are these concerns covered in any other forums? I think they are realistic in that they will happen.

Thanks for your help.
Joe
