Hello,

What might I find advantageous about your book as apposed to the documentation available on the GlassFish community site?

Thanks,

Carl

Well you could try reading the amazon entry for the book..

Basically I like having a hard copy of what I'm trying to learn, and a narrative tutorial style book always helps, more so than the official documentation .. (IMO)

You could try looking here if anything interests you - http://java-ee-5-glassfish.packtpub.com/index.htm

Carl,

The freely available documentation for developing applications with GlassFish covers just the development aspects. Examples using a datasource assume this datasource has already been set up in GlassFish, and offer no explanation on how to do so, the same thing happens when explaining security, JMS, etc. No explanation is given on how to set up a security realm, a message queue or message topic.

This lack of coverage is bound to leave a few people scratching their heads, wondering why their code isn't working.

All the needed setup and configuration for the examples to run are covered in my book.

David
