Hi,
Are Mbeans always stateless or is it also possible to keep the context of a session? How can this be done?

Thanks,
Jack

Jack,
Are asking about JMX Management Beans (called MBeans) or Message Driven Beans (MDBs)? While the JMX ones are called MBeans, they have nothing to do with users, so I think you might be asking about the later.

Message Driven Beans are always stateless because they process data off a queue or other asynchronous mechanism. There is no user associated with them. You can pass parameters to the MDB though. So you can pass a user name or the like to look up some user information, log the user, etc.

MBeans are for managing and monitoring applications. The concept of a user doesn't apply here.
