Hi all,

I just started reading EJBs and I thought it'd be nice if you guys can give some input on why you want to use them.

Thanks.

The typical reason is if you want to take advantage of a service provided by the EJB container such as security or transaction support.

From my experience in one of the projects that I worked, we had our own trannsaction management object and we had some production level issues due to in appropriate handling of the transaction.

In my current project, we use EJB and I simply do not have to bother about writing transaction related objects by myself. The container simply takes care of it.

This is one of the advantages and of course there are many more with EJB's.

This is a very general question. Please be specific and Show Some Effort
