When we call remove() on an Entity Bean, the real entity in the database gets deleted or removed and the Entity Bean that represented this row in the database goes to the bean pool. So does this mean that the state of this particular bean instance gets initialized or reset and then sent to the pool?

Yes. An object in the pool doesn't represent any entity in the database.
