SOA Job

Hi Ranchers,

i am a j2ee web programmer having 3 years of exp (only in java, j2ee)...and have worked in developing couple of web services in SOA environment....i have been working for a reputed company in chennai...

recently, i got a job offer from a big MNC (bangalore) to work for some SOA and middleware projects...
regarding job profile: initially, i would be given training in websphere process server, writing of business processes, development of web services and also some instructions on usage of an IDE (something related to WPS)...

i request you folks to give your suggestions on this job profile...i'm less bothered about relocation, salary and company...i would like to know the future prospects of working in middleware/SOA esp. in Websphere Process Server...please tell me whether it is a wise decision to move from j2ee to middleware technologies....

Hi Kartik,

To me, moving from a J2EE background into Enterprise Integration is a natural progression. Websphere process server and Integration developer form a part of the SOA stack being offered by IBM. Both these products are being heavily pushed. I have over 8 years in the Industry and my profile is similar. I started with J2EE and moved to EAI using Websphere tools (MQ, Message broker and Process Server). Its definetly and interesting area with a lot of scope.

SOA and integration are great areas to be in. It is tha part of the career
progression. Who wants to look at JSPs, HTML, CSS and JavaScripts for ever? In my view back end development and integration is more fun?

HI All,

I have similar type of confusion. I am working in Bangalore in Supply Chain domain in a SCM company for 2 yrs.I have been offered in a reputed EAI company. Both SCM and EAI have good demand in current market. So what should I do?

1. In my current company, most of coding in xml less java work. I also heard that in EAI tools will be same thing.
2. In my current company my designation Software Eng but in offered company Senior Associate Consultant in Profession service.
3. In salary part almost same in fixed part of CTC.

I am very confuse and unable to make any decision.
pls help me out with your suggestion.

I need your suggestion again. Just now, I have talk with my manager about my job switch. As I have told you that, I have been offered from an EAI company.

Now my manager is telling he will assign me some interesting java work.

What should I do?
