Is there a way to count the amount of objects currently instantiated? - not ready for garbage collection?
Thanks.

Check out the Java Profiler Tools listed on this page: http://www.sys-con.com/java/awards/awards-jbc99.html
Compuware/NuMega also has some decent profilers.
