Hi all,
I have made an application which uses the url class to fetch data from a particular url. This works fine if the user has direct connection to net, but it does not work behind firewalls.
Can someone tell me how can it be made to work behind firewalls.
Thanks
Fardeen

since yu r using url connection there (i think http) should not be any problem with firewall. i think problem may be with proxy. if ur connected thro' proxy set proxy properties.
hope this helps

hi
i don't think it is possible. for example chat applications like yahoo, icq ,... when yu specify 'using proxy' they will ask for proxy ip and port.

Hi,

Is it enough to add the above code in you application ie putting values in System properties besides your connection code etc Or do we need to do something further more?
