I was wondering if there are some sites where I can get projects (java/j2ee- open source or paid) etc where I can work as a part time resource. This will help me getting a better experience and money if possible.

Anyone aware of them ?

Thanks!
Shivani.

There are lots of open source project going on Sun site.

If you might use some framework they are also open source:

Log4j, Struts, Hibernate etc. etc.

If you want to spend some money and get a good certification instead of working open source.

Try SCJD certification, you will get project based RMI.

You won't get paid for it, but 2 good places to look are sourceforge.net and apache.org - especially the Apache incubator. Find a project that appeals to you and ask if you can join.

I think there are many freelance website you can get project from.
For example www.getafreelancer.com
But Make a good income by work at home not a easy thing, maybe you should do some try on spare time.

Hi Shivani,

Just noticed your posting. Try www.guru.com.

If you need someone to talk to/collaborate with on one of the projects on guru, let me know. I could use the experience as well.

The primary goal of your working from home should be getting some experience and not earning (which is hard anyway). Try to get a junior role somewhere and work under senior staff to gain some experience. I cannot understand why some people take time off to prepare for certification when they can gain experience by working under someone. Things like preparing for certification, interview etc can be done from home (e.g. 1 hour a day on your academic stuff)

It would give a normal human mental abilities to rival mine. To think it is just a tiny ad:
