Hi, I want the user to be authenticated to end my application.for eg. when the user uses the
"CTRL+ALT+DEL" keys to terminate my application the user should be prompted for a password. If it
is right then end the program else leave it as it is.This is really challenging. Please reply as
soon as possible.Expecting your replies sooner.Let me see if anyone could reply upto my expectation.

Hello Netharam Ram,
I could be wrong (although I don't think so) but I think there is simply no way to do that in Java.

Well, if it is a Windows application - you could create a Windows Service in Java that runs in the background and just listens for KeyEvents. When it detects the combination that you care about - throw the user into the authentication routine. However - you are talking about one Java application interacting with another one - so you will have to get involved with knowing what process the original application is running under etc.

I don't actually understand what u have replied. When I run a java application as a service & capture the key combinations,I can ask for a password, but the end task list will also appear simultaneously. So I don't get u'r reply upt to the point. Please reply aptly.
Happy middling with java.
