running java without JRE ?

Hi,
If i convert my class file to an exe file, then can i run it without installing JRE?

I guess not, you would need some runtime environment to run class file. However, on windows it is possible for users to run class files using a batch file that uses Microsofts Virtual Machine(jview.exe).Microsoft's VM is installed with IE 5.x.

In the search box at the bottom of this page select the saloon.javaranch.com radio button and then search for
.exe

Of course you can just "bundle" the jre with your application without really "installing" it and have your users invoke a bat file that sets the path and classpath on the fly to look at your applications jre even if they do not have java "really" installed.
The jre is not all that big.
