Hi,

I have got my visa stamped in India for H1. Is it possible to transfer the visa to another company without having worked for the company from which I got the visa stamped?

When you will resign from your current organization, immigration department will cancel your visa at the time of clearance. Also, according to US immigration laws, if you want to transfer your visa, you need to be on US land.
So AFAIK the only way to retain your H1 is go to US from same company, get a I-94 and other immigration related activities done on the H1, stay for couple of months to find a suitable opportunity and city, apply for transfer of visa, and then resign...

That's news to me. There's nothing preventing another company from filing an H-1 petition on his behalf.

Cheers!
