If we use JNI, we may introduce memory leaks in java
If we put an object is some static HashMap then that object will never be garbage collected
what are other tricky ways of memory leaks in java?
how about RMI?

Objects that run on their own Thread can be prevented from garbage collection.

Although I suspect the load from supporting the thread could be greater than the effect of having a single unreferenced object.

That occured to me as I was writing too, but I was afraid someone would kick sand in my face.

When we create a graph of objects and if we have reference to only a single object from it, garbage collector wont be able to do its job
so what are the common patterns in real life where we see such graphs
I bet swing uses such designs heavily
knowing good design patters may be harmful haan ?
