Hi,
Thanks for your speedy response. Actually I want to download the file residing in their ftp server, I can download the file if its been set up as active as follows.
a) open an input stream to the URL (ie., ftp://username assword@host/directory/filename)
b)read the stream and write to a local file.
But as it is set up as passive, i am wondering how to access that file?

hi,
may be that would not work as you experience if its working via Passive mode.
you have to use FTP client. you can't just read in like that i believe.
any more thoughts from anybody else??
thanks
maulin.
