As much as I love technology and electronic information, nothing beats a good old-fashioned text book when trying to learn such heavy subjects. Anyone can post anything on the web, so you have to be more careful to find a reliable source. However, a textbook is (usually) only published if the author really knows what they are talking about.
With that said, I don't have any suggestions as I only have the text book for my current compiler class. Perhaps you can shop at Amazon.com or another online book store for something that fits your needs.
HTH

Ok, you've asked for it: *The* (with a capital T) compiler book is: 'the Dragon book' by Aho, Sethi and Ullman. It explains everything about lexical analysis, symbol tables, syntax trees, code generation and all the other stuff you've always wanted to know but were too afraid to ask. You've been warned
kind regards

i found this book:
D.Gries Compiler construction for digital computers.
it is old and only copy is available. but there is one problem i am from Lithuania and i can't use amazaon.com to buy a copy of that book. So i'd like to know if there is a place where i can get e-version of that copy?
thank you.
