Hello Everyone,
I am trying to find out : how to run a java applet/application on Mac environment. I have never used Mac in my life and here is the software of our company, made in JDK1.4.0 and now we want to try out if this software works fine in Mac environment.
I need to know
1) How to find directories and files of the hard drive in Mac, using Java.
2) How to launch a microsoft application like word or other application like Internet Explorer from Mac, using Java.
I want to make use of getRuntime().exec().
I hope this makes sense to you.
I hope you could help me out with this.
Looking forward to recieving your reply,
Kind Regards,
Riddhi.

The last I heard the latest JDK for the Mac is 1.3. So, if your appication doesn't run with 1.3 on Windows then it won't run on the Mac.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
