I apologize if this is not the proper forum for this but I was unsure where to post.
I have built a Java-based application, but I am completely lost as to what price to charge, what licensing options to offer, how to create a license and copyright the application. This is one area of Java which is very vague - there's very little info I know of on this.
If anyone knows of resources, free or otherwise, which can answer these questions, post it here. When I've gotten them all, and tried them out, I'd be more than happy to compile it all into an article for the JavaRanch newsletter so we can all benefit from it.
The areas I need to know about:
1. Pricing - how do I figure out what a fair/market-correct amount my product is worth?
2. Licensing - how do I know what licensing models I should offer the product under? And how should that affect price?
3. How do I develop a license aside from paying a lawyer a ton of money?
4. What is the best way to deliver/offer the product?
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
