I looked in the API and it says the NoSuchMethodError is called when:
Thrown if an application tries to call a specified method of a class (either static or instance), and that class no longer has a definition of that method.
But I don't really understand how something like this can happen.

This usually happens when you have an old or conflicting version of a jar in your classpath.
Have you changed your classpath recently, or the jars in it?

Rebuild and ensure that only the newly-compiled files are on the classpath. Also, is there an SDK/runtime mismatch, eg 1.3/1.2.
