When I try to run my program I'm getting the following error message--->
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/comm/Unsupporte
dCommOperationException

I have tried to run the program using jdk1.2.1 as well as jdk1.1.6

I think you tried to use classes those are not available on your version of JDK. Try the latest one.

javax.comm.* is not part of the standard Java libraries, you'll need to download comm.jar from the Sun site. They have the Win32 version there, but they should also have a link to the *nix version. I'm not aware of a Mac version. (These are serial and parallel port drivers and are therefore platform dependant)
