Hi
Is it possible to switch between applications, etc. java - notepad - java
What I mean is, if I have a small java app. and I push a button in that app.
then I would like to detect if Notepad is already running, is Notepad running
then type some text and return to my java app.
I'm using the Robot class for typing, but I'm having trouble to detect if Notepad
is already running, and if so how to make it the active window.
Any suggestions
Regards
Carsten H.

no this is not possible. You will have to interface with some native code in the OS to check OS level things like notepad. There is no build in interface either.
If you REALLY want to do it, start to investigate JNI.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
