Hi!
Have used javamail and is sending a MIME mail. Have tested with many users wich charset is the best to use. Since I live in Norway we use special charachters and thereofre I use charset=ISO8859_4 to get this charachters right. When using this charset everyone get the text right, but ca 1% receive this message:
This message uses a character set that is not supported by the Internet
Service. To view the original message content, open the attached message.
If the text doesn't display correctly, save the attachment to disk, and then
open it using a viewer that can display the original character set.
<<message.txt>>
Some in English and some receive it in norwegian. Have tested with one of the customers to send it in utf-8 goes fine, so its not that I send it in html or that it identifies it as span the problem is. Seems for me that some versions of Exchange(or another mailserver) might have a problem with identifying ISO8859_4 as a charset. Does anyone have a better idea?

As far as I know, mailprotcols where first defined using 7-bit Ascii, and a lot of mailservers still work in 7-bit.
Your two options are: Only send 7bit-encoded mails. No errormessages will occur.
Or you send it as is, and then some mailserver will recode it and sent it as attachments.
Since you cannot know which way your mails will take, you cannot know before, which mail will not be transmitted without problems.
