Need guidnace for entering Java devlopement career

Hi All,

I am sagar from Pune India.
I have total 7+ years of exp. and currently I am working in software testing field. I have 4+ years of exp. in software testing. My current company is a product based company and I am into testing of a standalone application. There is not much growth in this company.

I have done a course of core Java and have better understanding of client server applications and web applications, have knowledge of HTML, SQL and unix.

Kindly provide me your views on these two aspects:
1. Will it be a correct decision to switch to devlopement field?
2. Currently I am getting 6Lakhs/A. Can I get the same pakage or I will have to compromise on salary part to get entry in devlopement?

Patience Is a Virtue. If no one answers then either not everyone has seen it yet, or no one knows. By bumping up your post you actually encourage people to not reply (I personally don't respond to threads where the naming policy isn't followed, people use the word "urgent", bump up their threads, etc). So I would encourage to you wait and if no one responds, well, this is a volunteer site, there's no promise about always getting the information you need; but please don't add more noise to the forums if you don't get what you want.
