I built an application that basically reads and writes to files. Works well for a small number of files, when I try to do more, the application shuts down completely. I get this error in PID log:
# An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:

Any idea what is causing this? Does anything look odd in the thread or heap information?

Hi,
Will you include your OS info?
Also, is this error reproducible?
Steps to reproduce this error?

Sure:
OS: Windows 2000 Build 2195 Service Pack 4
CPU:total 2 family 15, cmov, cx8, fxsr, mmx, sse, sse2, ht
Memory: 4k page, physical 1047532k(604952k free), swap 2522064k(2149208k free)
vm_info: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.5.0_02-b09) for windows-x86, built on Mar 4 2005 01:53:53 by "java_re" with MS VC++ 6.0

I'm basically pulling file names from an array to read, then writing to another. If the array is small (about 5 file names) it will work fine. If the array is large, this problem happens every time.
