Hi....,

I read a book called Source Code China.... it is predicated that JOB's from Indian IT companies will move to china in near future.

Is this true, what is the future of IT services in India, has anybody really done any research to know what would be the future of IT services in India

Some jobs will move from India to China, some from China to the USA, some from the USA to Australia and so on. I can't say anything about your job specifically.

[BPS: removed comment that could be seen as offensive]

Really though, I've worked with quite a few mixed talented (good/bad - male/female - citizens/immigrant workers) Chinese developers and I.T. folks here in the U.S..

Here, the fear is jobs being outsourced to India. Sounds like a circulating economy to me .

Aloha,
Doug

What are the reasons being mentioned in the book for this to happen..Apparently I don't think China is cheaper than India..But I see a share of it going to Eastern European countries...

Could not agree more with you. All we can do as individuals to keep our skills/knowledge/experience sharp and current to make us more employable, even in difficult markets. We have no control over the global changes and trends.

That is possible. American companies might move their software development efforts from india to china to make them closer to their manufacture centers there.

But I do not think that they would ever move due to the cost. Actually the average cost for IT is much higher than in India.

I feel in the future China could be losing its manufacturing edge to countries like India and India would be losing a share of Software services to countries like china...

Chinese are good at Manf Jobs, and it will take them some time catch up IT jobs especially their education being in other language then English..for now they have a poor quality when it comes to IT and sloppy communication which are determining factors for sucess in IT.
I believe chinese must be trying to address this problem however there is high chance Inidans might starting taking their Manf jobs for lower costs if they start loosing their IT jobs to china in near future they will have nothing to Do otherwise
or they might become more innovative and start to concenterate on putting out new software products from application services which is major source of Jobs.. Already IT has started moving the wheel of wealth from Retail,Construction, banking,Defense which can be felt in stock market. By the time chinese take over Indian Jobs who knows they would not care abt Jobs from West to their dollar Value even china might be least bothered for western world Jobs

Chinese IT is actually cheaper than Indian' .....this is because the most Chinese developers do not serve foreign clients(due to language barrier).

I don't expect too much jobs will be outsourced to china since they pay their programmers as much as regular coporate accountants.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
