(1) Are both pure Java based application?
(2) What kind of data you want to send?

There are lots of different ways to have two Java applications communicate. Which you should choose depends on a lot of factors. Some of your options are:

- Java RMI (Remote Method Invocation)
- Sockets (one application (server) listens for connections on a port, the other (client) connects to the port)
- XML over HTTP (SOAP, web services)
- Message queue (using JMS)
- File system (one app writes a file somewhere, the other app periodically checks for the file and reads it)

Hi,

You could use a P2P system like JXTA, too.

Thansk
