I have a Java application running on my computer that I did not write nor do I have the source-code for this application, yet I want my Java application to get access to data in that application (it has a Swing interface). I think that this could be done using the Windows API, but I’m wondering if there is an easier way as the app is written in Java and my app is written in Java as well.

More specifically, I want access to data that resides in a JTable in a window of the other application.

Thanks,
Vito Pirelli.

There are some tools available in market to create source code from .class files. This may help you.

Another way is using reflection you may be able to interface with jTable. But how will you manage to run old program and new program in same jvm?
