Hello all,

Can anybody tell me how to see with which version of the jdk a certain class is compiled. I suppose this must be possible. We need to see this for one of our applications to troubleshoot a problem. Thanks in advance,

regards,

Ronald

There's probably existing tools for it, but here's an article about the subject:

http://www.javaworld.com/javaqa/2003-05/02-qa-0523-version-p2.html

It says that if you view the file in a Hex editor, you can see the version after OxCAFEBABE

Sure, it works if you just need to check for arbitrary set of files that were all compiled using the same version, although you would need some programatic solution (as the article describes) if you wanted to detect this on the fly.
