What does MMDDCCYY format represents while representing current date. I know MM stands for month, DD for date, YY for year , what is CC about ?

Where did you see this? It's not an abbreviation from java.text.SimpleDateFormat,
but C is sometimes used for century: See java.util.Formatter in 1.5, for example.
