Welcome to JavaRanch.

Firstly, you should not be doing file I/O in a JSP page, that really bad design. Move that to a servlet or a backing bean.

Secondly, how to access a file depends a great deal on what kind of access you have to the remote machine - FTP, shared volume, SMB, HTTP, ... ?

I think your question is not very clear but maybe you are trying a file upload, in this case I recommend the apache utilities.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
