Generate PPT with Java.

Does anyone have experience or ideas about the possible ways to generate PPT 's with Java.

Suggestions are highly appreciated.

The Jakarta POI library can be used to read and (to a limited degree) edit PPT files, so you could try it for creating files. A short introduction is here. It sounds as if the creating and editing capabilitoes are very mimited, though. Be sure to get the latest 3.0 alpha version -which is much improved-, not the latest released version 2.5.1.

Another option would be to use the OpenOffice Java API to let OO create the the presentation, and then export it to PPT (if OO can do that, I'm not sure). The OO developer site is here.
