Not directly, but you might try this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Java-Bioinformatics-Biomedical-Applications-Harshawardhan/dp/0387372350/sr=1-1/qid=1168037876/ref=sr_1_1/102-6022985-7325710?ie=UTF8&s=books

Good luck!

You might want to post some of your specific questions, unless of course you are just trying to get some survey or count of the number of users of javaRanch that have experience in java (probably close to 100%) and bioinformatics (who knows, maybe .07%) - or the users that have exprience in bioinformatics in java.

bio-informatics is not fully defined yet. A range of definitions include human genome research tools, such as parsers for recognizing patterns in nucleotide seqences, identity-recognition tools, motion detectors used for unattended patients, ....

The list is not well defined at the moment.

The mailing list for the ImageJ Java image manipulation application/library is full of people doing that. ImageJ originates at the NIH, and is used especially in the medical and biological communities.
