again, not sure whether this is the correct forum, anyway,

I have a requirement to send sms from a java application. Any pointers to do this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

did you bother to do some research of your own?

So there's tons of information out there.

depending on your contract with your service provider you will have to pay per message sent, pay a flat fee per month/year, or both.

Use a free web service available . Make you java code a web services client and use the web service available to send the message:-
