I am 25 years old. I have done B.Tech Mechanical & M.B.A Marketing with one year experience in Manufacturing and one year in Marketing.

I started preparing for SCJP 5.0 myself from November´┐Ż2007 onwards & now in initial stages of giving mock exams I am scoring between 85-950% marks. Before starting my preparation for Java I had no prior knowledge of any language not even C, C++, etc. It was really very tough for me to understand Java in the beginning but now I am comfortable with it & doing well. I have really started liking it and love to do coding a lot. But as I am getting closer to my SCJP exam some doubts have started coming up in my mind like:

1) Should my age & qualification have negative impact in getting me a job?

2) Should I go for SAP as it has good combination with my qualification as everybody is guiding me to go for SAP?

3) If I go for SAP will SCJP certification will help me.

4) If no to SAP which other certifications should I go for, which help me getting a good java job.

I am really stressed and frustrated with all these questions. Please advice!

What type of job do you want? I would guess that you have maybe 1-2 years experience or are quite likely just out of school. Given your degrees it seems like you would be looking at marketing jobs, most likely in the manufacturing industry. That you're considering getting the SCJP it seems you're now thinking of becoming a software developer. Given your (presumably recent) degrees, why do you want to change industries?
