LDAP is Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. It is a protocol for looking up information in a directory service. The standard Java API to access an LDAP service is JNDI.

These protocols are not suited for file transfer. LDAP is frequently used for example for looking up information about users (user names, e-mail addresses, etc.).

Why do you think you need to use LDAP for file transfer?

You ridiculous clown, did you think you could get away with it? This is my favorite tiny ad!
