Now a days many people are asking for RUP.
If I want to put RUP in my resume then what exactly I want to learn.
Just theory knowledge is enough ?
What exactly I should have knowledge about RUP?

I would suggest reading Phillipe Kruchten's Introduction to RUP book. It covers the basics really well.

An agile version, and a little more up to date, is Agilty and Discipline Made Easy by Per Kroll and Bruce MacIsaac.

Between the two books you should be ok.

I thought most companies have agile development methodology which are customized to suit a particular environment/company based on methodologies like XP, TDD, SCRUM, etc and RUP is more suited for SOA initiatives. Regardless it is worth knowing all the pros/cons of each approach and comapnies usually try these approaches on a pilot project. Hope I have not opened the can of worms on the RUP vs Agile discussion.

After just reading about word RUP(Rational Unified Process)
i am quit interested in knowing about RUP in brief (before i could go with reading a book on it....)
could you please ellaborate and explain to what is RUP?
i read above post as you have mentioned it is suited
in SOA initiatives.....still would like to know something more about RUP


it will be kinda of you if you could put some light
on it..........
