I have created this BufferedImage with the type TYPE_BYTE_INDEXED. Now I want to change the value of the pixels, one at a time, but the only method i can find is BufferedImage.setRGB(), and the docs for it says it looks up the closest index to the rgb.... and i don't want that, cause it's slow. What I want is a way to just set the byte value of one of the pixels. How?

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
